With a career spanning over 25 years in the dynamic and challenging realms of construction, mining, renewables, and gas sectors, I have carved out a niche as a dedicated HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) professional. My journey began on the ground, gaining invaluable trade experience that now informs my strategic approach to HSE. In the past two decades, I've dedicated myself to HSE roles, working with renowned companies, Owners, EPCM Contractors, and Lower Tier Contractors. This diverse exposure has not only broadened my understanding of industry-specific safety requirements but has also honed my ability to adapt and respond to evolving HSE challenges. My academic foundation is rooted in tertiary qualification from the CQ University, with a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety and stands testament to my commitment to continuous learning and professional development. This theoretical grounding complements my practical skills, particularly in developing and auditing Safety Management Systems. My approach is both analytical and pragmatic, focusing on creating systems that are not just compliant but also foster a culture of safety and responsibility. Leadership in HSE is more than just enforcing rules – it's about influencing change, educating teams, and driving a safety-first mindset across all levels of an organization. My experience in various sectors has equipped me with the insights to lead such change effectively, ensuring safety is never compromised.
