About David Luci

I am the co-founder, President, and CEO of Acurx Pharmaceuticals, Inc.(NASDAQ: ACXP), leading our mission to advance innovation in antibiotic drug development. Before our IPO, I served as Managing Partner and Director since February 2018. My career spans leadership roles in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. Previously, I was the President and CEO of Dipexium Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: DPRX), where I oversaw the development of antibiotic drug candidates until the company’s merger with PLx Pharma Inc.(Nasdaq: PLXP) in a $69 million transaction. Before that, I was a board member of Abeona Therapeutics, where I chaired both the Audit and Compensation Committees and provided strategic consulting following the acquisition of MacroChem. I also served as President and a board member of MacroChem and held executive roles at Bioenvision, Inc, focusing on oncology drug development and commercialization. I began my career as a certified public accountant in the Healthcare Practice Group at Ernst & Whinney LLP (now Ernst & Young LLP) in New York before transitioning to corporate law at Paul Hastings LLP. My legal practice covered mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, restructurings, and private equity transactions, with a strong focus on the healthcare industry. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Bucknell University and my law degree from Albany Law School of Union University, where I served as Managing Editor of the Journal of Science & Technology. I became a CPA in Pennsylvania (inactive) and am a member of the New York State Bar Association. My deep experience in the pharmaceutical industry continues to drive my passion for strategic leadership, innovation, and value creation.
