About David Lukes
Since March 2016, I have been the director of the Paraple Centre o.p.s, where I was a member of the board of directors from its establishment until my election as director. My biggest challenge is managing our organization of nearly 100 staff and freelancers, and securing funding for a quality comprehensive social rehabilitation service through individual and corporate fundraising. I am also chairman of the Czech Wheelchair Rugby Union and currently coach of the national team. Together with my organising team we organise the biggest wheelchair rugby tournament in the world - Rugbymania. Since 2006 I have volunteered as a member of Czech Paraplegic Association - CZEPA and I was the Executive Director from 2010 until 2022. In 2007 I graduated from Comenius University in Bratislava with a degree in law and worked as a lawyer and later as a marketing specialist in the private sector, in the company CIMEX INVEST, which includes the hotel chain OREA HOTELS & RESORT.
