About David M. Mula

I hold a Doctor of Business Administration with a specialty in Leadership. My doctoral study was titled "Examining Emotional Intelligence and Transformational Leadership within U.S. Army National Guard Leaders"(UMI# 3566508). I have authored chapters in two books: The Refractive Thinker®: Vol. Effective Business Practices for Motivation and Communication, and The Refractive Thinker® Vol. XX Crisis Management: Effective Business Solutions for Emergency Situations. I retired from the Louisiana Army National Guard as a Sergeant Major after 28-years of service. I held military occupational specialties in 13B (Cannon-crew Member), 92Y (Unit Supply), 91H (Track Vehicle Repairer), and 35F (Intelligence Analyst), and was certified as a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Black Belt. I spent most of my early full-time career as an Operations NCO and the latter half as a Senior Staff NCO developing and guiding strategic planning programs and processes and leading LSS process improvements at the State level as well as with partner agencies. I am also an adjunct faculty member with Upper Iowa University's MBA and undergraduate programs. I have taught multiple business courses in various formats, on-ground, online, and independent study. I specialize in teaching the soft-side of business, Leadership, Management, Ethics, Strategic Planning, Organizational Design etc, as well as guiding students through their Senior Project / Thesis courses.
