Skillset Summary Provide first shift, off-shift, and weekend monitoring and operation of data center systems and facilities including: IBM mainframe, AS/400-iSeries, and Oracle/APPWORX system monitoring and control. In conjunction with Production Control department, provide day and off-shift batch processing support, i.e, fulfill requests, modify schedule, and initiate program restarts. Monitor building and data center environmental and UPS systems, generator backup system, Liebert AC units, and fire suppression/subfloor water detection systems. Process open systems backups and monitor server activity using NetBackup, CNTL/M, and Big Brother; respond to client requests such as server reboots and backup restarts. Process and prepare backup tapes for offsite storage. Work closely with Help Desk and Network Operations in monitoring and troubleshooting network and server connectivity issues. Perform scheduled change requests and provide outage escalation/notification. Interact with vendors and field office personnel. Develop and maintain data center procedures documentation.
