About David Marshall

I began my career in Creative Digital Media in Munster Technological University where I predominantly learned how to harness and expand my creativity. Here I learned the basics in editing softwares such as Adobe's Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects, Lightroom and Photoshop. All of which I still use today. We had the opportunity to experience all areas of digital creation and I soon found my passion for video production and graphic design. On my journey through the creative digital media world I was lucky enough to find myself working as part of the Dog Day Media team, a well established and respected media production company in Cork City. Here I worked as a video editor on projects for SuperValue & Centra and through my connections I met Tom the owner of Rashr (Now OceanR), a watersports clothing company on a mission to improve the fashion industry with their clothing made from reclaimed ocean waste. I soon joined the Rashr team as lead designer taking on the task of designing everything from custom clothing designs and packaging to creative content for their social media and website. In the summer of 2017 I was accepted into the Student Inc Programme at the Rubicon Centre, Bishopstown. Here I was given the opportunity to develop my own business - a media production company called Isla Media founded by myself and my two best friends. Over the summer period I received invaluable mentorship which saw us build full business & marketing plans, develop our presentation skills, pitch to investors and network with valuable key players within the industry. At Isla we offer professional services in video production, graphic design and motion graphics. We pride ourselves on being storytellers, problem solvers and forward thinkers. We like to think outside the box creating effective content for online, social media, print and cinema. Throughout every stage of the process, from the first hello all the way to the final delivery, we work closely with our clients to understand their vision and produce unique and creative content that will boost engagement and increase brand awareness. The last 4 years at Isla Media have provided me with some of the most amazing experiences working in an industry I love and producing effective content for some of the best businesses in Cork and beyond.
