About David Martins

I am the General Manager of Castro Marim Golfe & Country Club, assuming the management of the Resort. Over the last twelve years, I have been trainer at the Algarve School of Hospitality and Tourism in Faro and Vila Real de Santo António teaching the courses units of “Introduction to Tourism”, “Tourism Information”, “Communication” and “Customer Service and Sales”, etc. In the last three years, I am Assistant Lecturer at the School for Management, Hospitality and Tourism - University of Algarve. I did my Bachelor in Tourism Studies at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo and my degree in Tourism (specialization in Marketing) at the University of Algarve. I am currently attending the Master in Tourism Marketing at the same University. In the past, I had an active participation in the public life, being Member of the Portuguese Parliament (Economic & Tourism Committees), Deputy Mayor at Albufeira Municipal Council and Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries. I did my Erasmus program in England where I was trainee at the Leisure and Tourism Directorate of Bournemouth Council and at Buxton Tourism Information Centre. After that I trained at the Algarve Tourist Board and become Assistant to the Executive Manager at Vilamoura Promotion Bureau.
