About David McBean
Typically when I tell people I do consulting geophysics I get a blank stare. So what is geophysics? In a nutshell - it's looking underground without digging. Everything from looking for buried prehistoric artifacts, measuring ice thickness for Hollywood movies, looking for grave sites, detecting liner leaks in waste ponds, detecting unexploded ordinances, and so on. I love my work because every week has a new challenge that can be solved with innovation and creativity. I received both a Bachelor's of Science with Specialization in Geophysics and Astrophysics from the University of Alberta in 2011 and 2014 respectively. During my time at the University of Alberta, I was involved with many volunteer organizations, including the Physics Society, the Geophysics Undergraduate Society, and the Students' Union. When I'm not at work signal processing geophysics data, I am usually busy signal processing vinyls at home with my DJ set up. I also love snowboarding, rock climbing, and running.
