I am a highly experienced, proven and business-oriented IT consultant, with over 25 years experience working on a variety of projects. I have exceptionally good client facing skills, and can communicate effectively and accurately with all levels of staff, from the board down to the new starter trainee. I have experience of many different technologies, and have drawn upon this experience in the past when I have been in a consultative role, whether planning strategy or designing technical infrastructures or coding. Having worked as a consultant at many sites, I am able to see many available options, and can recommend the best solution for the job in hand. I have many years experience in supporting various applications, and my problem-solving skills are one of my greatest assets. I have many years experience providing support for Application Developers, and Operational staff, as well as providing support for Business Users. I have a very good understanding of database technologies, including SQL Server, Access, MySql, and DB2, and an extensive knowledge of both mainframe and Wintel systems and associated hardware. I have a Diploma in Computing, and have attended many training courses during the last 25 years, although one of my strengths is assimilating new systems and applications, and learning new technologies very quickly. Another of my strengths is my ability to actually get things done, whilst many others just talk about it! I am a conscientious hard working individual, and always strive to complete projects on time and within budgets. I consider myself a very good team player, and always endeavour to train staff where required. Specialties: Z/OS, MVS, Mainframe Systems Programming. I have 20+ years experience of analysis, design and coding of system tools that are used in order to make IT technicians’ jobs easier. I have in depth experience of many programming languages, including Roscoe RPF’s, Z/OS assembler, Rexx, Clist, Selcopy, IDCAMS, JCL and Sas to newer languages such as C#.NET, VB.NET, PHP and Javascript/CSS, and.NET interfacing with Office products via interop to read/write office documents.
