About David McDonough

With over 15 years of work experience in the legal field, I am a seasoned and passionate Legal Services Director at Central California Alliance for Health (CCAH), a public health plan that serves over members in five counties. My core competencies include strategic management, legal advice and guidance, contract negotiation and drafting, and compliance with health care laws and regulations. My mission is to provide high-quality legal services that support the Alliance's vision of improving the health and well-being of our diverse and underserved communities. In my current role, I lead and oversee the Legal Services Department, acting as a subject matter expert and providing executive level advice and guidance on legal and administrative contracting issues and overall business operations. I also manage and coordinate legal matters in collaboration with external counsel, and direct health plan administrative contracting, including maintenance of agreements and re-negotiation of contracts in coordination with Alliance staff and external counsel. Some of the skills that I use and demonstrate in my role are mediation, legal writing, and commercial litigation, which help me resolve disputes, communicate effectively, and protect the interests of the Alliance.
