About David McKinnis

I am an experienced executive and have enjoyed my life journey, both personally and professionally. I have meet many wonderful people along the way, and am pleased that I have been able to maintain many of those relationships still today. I take great pride in playing a small part in and watching people succeed in their careers. I have been fortunate to work with many inspirational people and to also observe close hand some disasters in the making. Both extremes have allowed me to formulate some very successful business models and systems which I enjoy sharing with people and introducing into the businesses I work in and with. My experiences have allowed me to test these theories and ideas across a range of industries, business types and personalities, and they stand the test of time. I am an advocate of Covey's Seven Habits and wish I was introduced to him earlier in my career. I enjoyed significant success in the sales and sales leadership fields for many years, operated a dynamic small retail business, consulted to a range of businesses and held senior roles in flourishing companies in the financial sector. I firmly subscribe to todays leader's role being to "Build Culture, Trust & Morale". Success in those endeavours will lead to increases in Productivity, Co-operation and Discretionary Effort. Sounds simple I know, and there are many, many strategies and methods to achieve that, but as long as leaders keep a focus on those core three areas, their business will succeed. Finally in a spirit of constant improvement I have always said that,"We will be the same person we are today, in 5 years time, except for the people we meet and the books that we read!" I believe that is also still true. Thank you to all who have helped and inspired me along my journey so far! I truly appreciate the influence you have had on me - especially my family.
