About David Miler

Knowledge is having the right answer. Intelligence is asking the right question. I always have lots of questions, I am relentlessly inquisitive, always trying to put things into context. I strive to have a broad perspective of the development process and application lifecycle. I am confident with many different aspects of development including security, devOps, observability, mentoring, planning, hiring or agile methodologies. I have experience from both startup and corporate environments as well as international experience working in the US for over a year- I have built 3 cloud-native supplier connectivity services all the way from design stage to production - leveraging AWS, test automation and continuous delivery while ensuring security, scalability and high availability- I have, with my team, designed, built, deployed and maintained a Golang microservice for integration with a 3rd-party supplier, enabling our customers to book train trips in new geographic regions. Doing so we have pioneered approaches for breaking out of older monolithic solutions- I have designed, implemented and documented a solution for continuous 2-way synchronization of repositories between SVN and Git, which has been leveraged by other teams- I have spearheaded our team's efforts for achieving GDPR compliance, from helping us understand requirements to refactoring legacy solutions for additional security and privacy. These are just a few specific examples, but whatever the task at hand is, I approach it with an open mind, enjoy learning and being adaptive - soaking up new ideas instantly and applying them to my work. I also take equally great pleasure in sharing ideas with others. For my contribution to the team I have been recognized as an SAP Catalyst.
