About David Molinari

I have worked in the information industry for 40-plus years. Most of my experience has been in newspaper, but my current employer is a subscription website. The majority of my career has been spent as a writer - I was inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame's media wing in 2009 - but I was a copy editor for several years and, unlike many writers, actually enjoy that aspect of the business. I find mentoring younger writers to be particularly satisfying, and have discovered that I often learn as much as I teach when I do so. When I entered the business, I was one of the people of whom it was said,"He/she has printer's ink in his/her veins." I'm not sure what the contemporary version of that would be - a microchip in the cerebellum, perhaps- but whatever it is, my passion for disseminating accurate, important - and, ideally, entertaining - information hasn't waned. I have no reservations about providing writing samples (or providing a link so that things I've written can be assessed without me selecting them) and demonstrating my copy-editing abilities. And even though much of my career has involved covering hockey, my interests are not one-dimensional. I would be quite comfortable in a non-sports role. Such a change might even be welcome.
