Diversity for diversity sake is a good idea. But, diversity for the sake of the Kingdom is a God idea!”Throughout my roles in teaching, coaching, and ministry in Young Life, I have had the privilege of seeing miracles happening everyday. It happens when leaders are built up and put in positions where they can thrive and impact kids who relate to THEM. I’m honored to be part of the truly creative approaches we have built up in Young Life to raise up future leaders in ministry, especially in multi-ethnic demographics. We’ve seen ministry increase nearly over a seven year period in latino ministries and that’s just the start. We’re now seeing similar momentum in our African-American communities and other mixed communities.We are seeking creative approaches to help lengthen and widen the runway for the people in our program to help get them to full time staff. This involves funding, training, and support. We are creating bridges to help people come from part time to full time staff. We are building true leaders in the mission to ensure the longevity of healthy ministry in our communities and being able to truly reach every kid.
