About David Murillo

Welcome! My name is David Murillo and I am an undergraduate alumni from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). I majored in Psychobiology and am passionate about human behavior and addressing the psycho-social factors in health. I am currently in the process of applying to medical school with the ultimate goal of becoming a Psychiatrist. Further, I am working as a medical scribe at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in order to enhance my clinical knowledge, understand provider-patient dynamics, and better understand the role of social determinants in a patients holistic health. My long-term vision is to practice psychiatry in underserved communities, where the need for mental health support is often overlooked. Furthermore, I wish to transform the narrative regarding mental health, elucidating it’s importance for well-being.
