About David Norrish

David is the lead machine learning engineer at Seer Medical, where he's helping to develop and deploy machine learning models for diagnosing epilepsy and monitoring patients from the comfort of their own homes. He values creating a fertile workplace culture through communication, collaboration & mentorship; building systems that are as robust and maintainable as possible; and maintaining epistemic humility through a spirit of continual learning. In past lives David has worked in data science consulting, computational genomics & neuroscience research, public health policy and business intelligence. Tech stack-wise, he spends >90% of his time in the Python, Unix and AWS worlds. David is especially interested in health technology and effective altruism, and would like to contribute to bringing about a compassionate sustainable future.
