About David Obrien

David O’Brien, Managing Director, is Co-Head of BlackRock Evergreen Infrastructure Partners, BlackRock’s open-ended private infrastructure equity fund. Mr. O’Brien has been a senior investor with BlackRock’s Infrastructure Equity business since joining the firm in 2011 as a founding member of the business. Mr. O’Brien’s accomplishments include establishing BlackRock’s Diversified Infrastructure franchise through the acquisition of the infrastructure team and funds from First Reserve, being a founding member of BlackRock’s Climate Infrastructure franchise, establishing a LatAm infrastructure strategy and team through the acquisition of Infraestructura Institucional in Mexico, and leading the origination, execution and management of multiple infrastructure investments. Previously, Mr. O’Brien was a senior investment professional at NTR, a private developer, owner and operator of infrastructure businesses. Prior to joining NTR in 2005, Mr. O’Brien worked for KPMG Corporate Finance. Mr. O’Brien earned a Bachelor of Commerce (first-class honors) and Master of Accounting (first-class honors), both from University College Dublin, Ireland, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
