About David Patton

I am a property and commercial law Partner who has helped Queenslanders purchase, sell, lease and develop their assets for more than 25 years. My areas of expertise include general commercial, commercial property and residential property law and I regularly work with buyers, sellers, developers, landlords, tenants, bodies corporate, farmers and other business owners on a broad range of transactions. I help clients buy and sell property throughout Queensland. I have advised on matters local to Townsville and the north coast, through to The Gulf of Carpentaria, over to Cloncurry and down to Coolangatta. I also represent interstate and international clients buying or selling property in Queensland. Within the industry, I regularly network with other real estate professionals – including agents, valuers and developers – and enjoy sharing insights and updates relating to legislative changes and industry developments. I enjoy helping my network contacts achieve a smooth transaction for their clients and stakeholders. At wilson/ryan/grose, I lead the residential property team and am heavily involved in the firm’s precedents and knowledge management. Together we are organised, thorough and reliable – ensuring our clients experience is smooth and stress-free property transaction. We are recognised for our attention to detail, efficient processes and responsiveness. I realised some time ago that I am a “lover not a fighter” and believe that is reflected in both my choice of practice area as well as my approach to clients. I genuinely care about my clients’ outcomes and commit to ensuring they feel well informed, supported, and secure throughout the process. Outside of the law, I am a member of the Property Council of Australia’s Townsville Committee and a member of the Townsville Hospital Foundation Board – a role I find extremely rewarding. More personally, I am a sports nut (particularly cricket), love playing tennis and use any excuse to be in the wilderness – fishing, hiking and camping.
