I am applying for grants. here is my complete story. truly a worthwhile read: My need: a co-founder or two. who won't hold my age against me My Story: Born during the Depression, a member of “the greatest generation,” joined the Marines, served 8 years. We won WWII because everyone “gave a damn”, those who didn’t serve in the military planted Victory Gardens, searched for scrap iron, lived with everything rationed, and we all invested in War Bonds. My Problem: I then worked over 50 years in under-informed subservience to rule-by-wealth; Wall Street’s war on Main Street. Openly declared in 1980 when their back-stabbing search for ever-cheaper labor created America’s“rust-belt.” Steel mills were out-sourced; their message loud and clear, wage-slavery would be our only option. One industry after another would follow, and we are media-blinded by “trickle down economics”, the rich get richer, the poor made even poorer, and all now live with threatening poverty outside every door. My Reality:"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”(Einstein) My Solution: “Give a damn”… Lend, Invest, Donate…help put a LID on poverty… join Main Street Values… Lend your technical skills…Invest one-dollar every day in your-own common good… Donate all the time and material you no longer need… let’s build a Cooperative America, owned by We, the People. Main Street Values Method: Non-profit Ownership Centers will provide classes, work benches, and shared equipment; to practice and improve hands-on craft skills by creating working prototype models from metals, fabrics, woods, plastics, electronics, robotics etc. When fully trained, with living wage skills, they become equity building owners in Consumer-owned Cooperative industry-specific clusters. Where membership fees and investments provide the ways and means to produce and deliver import replacements… the goods and services we need and use every day.
