Background
About David Perloff
I am currently a licensed PE and ENV SP who specializes in traffic/transportation engineering. I graduated in May, 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and also currently attending graduate school in UML to get a Master's Degree focused in transportation engineering. During my first 4 years of working at Stantec, I've developed a lot of technical skills in traffic analysis through software comprising of Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, and HCS. I've also gained experience in applying these software skills by summarizing the output results in traffic study reports comprising of Traffic Impact Studies, Function Design Reports and Traffc memos. The main projects that I've been involved in is the Cape Cod Canal Transportation Study, where I was responsible for developing the entire traffic model for the study area, in which I've gained a lot of new analytical skills in the Vissim software and to extract and dissect important traffic data that can be most useful for presentations and reports. I also had the opportunity to take part in a few public meetings in Cape Cod to help present the findings to the public and answer questions from stakeholders. Another project I took part in at Stantec was the Middleborough Rotary, where I participated in the public meeting and writeup of the Road Safety Audit, along with assisting on the Vissim Traffic model too. During my 4 years at Green International affiliates, I gained more exposure to traffic design tasks in addition to building off on my planning skills with analysis tools I gained with Stantec. For design, I used CAD Civil 3D to developing multiple Traffic Management Plans (TMP) for Boston Water and Sewer Projects in the city of Boston. where I was able to apply the current MassDOT TTCP details to developing site specifics and detour plans. One of the biggest projects I got involved with was Erving Route 2, where I took part in presenting in a town meeting for the RSA, and wrote up the RSA and FDR report afterwards. I also gained experience in developing signing/striping plans and sign summaries for Vtrans roadway projects through the Microstation. I also wrote many Traffic Impact Study reports for various developments, in which I got the chance to assess how the traffic volumes generated from a proposed development can impact the operations of nearby intersections through means of Synchro and SIDRA. As of now, I hope to be more exposed to other projects and positions where I can broaden my skill levels to a wider range of engineers and clients.
