About David Perridge

After a 33 year career in education, the last 19 of which have been at West Heath School, an independent SEMH provision in Kent, I'm now embarking on the next stage of my working life. I'm taking the knowledge, skills and insights, honed over several decades, and setting up my own business providing Coaching, Training and Therapy. After so many years supporting young people faced with challenges that most of us could scarcely comprehend, as well as supporting those adults working with them, I'm well placed to help others grow in ways that are beneficial to themselves and to those around them. As a qualified Coach, Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, who also has a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology as well as the National Professional Qualification for Headship, I have knowledge and skills that are applicable in any context in which people feel challenged, either by others' expectations of them, or indeed by their own perceived limitations. However, it's not just qualifications that I possess, it's the lived experience of putting ideas and principles into practice in the messy and often conflicted space that is "real life". Whether it's through Mental Health First Aid courses, increasing knowledge, awareness and acceptance of the complexity of mental health issues, or through 1:1 Coaching, enabling people to move forwards in ways they'd thought impossible, I have a history of effective practice. Both at the individual, as well as at the organisational level, I bring insight, clarity, and often challenge to the process of supporting the wellbeing of people at a deep and meaningful level. Working with me means being open to vulnerability, open to the honesty from which real change is possible. It also means an acceptance of the need for both challenge and compassion, for others certainly, but equally so for ourselves. Working with me also means acceptance of our joint responsibility for the success of whatever venture it is that we embark upon. You will need to work, to engage positively and proactively, while I in turn will give all I can in order for you to achieve the outcomes you seek.
