At Western Governors University, I serve as the Program Design Standards and Practices Lead, where I drive innovation in online education through AI integration, DesignOps, and equity-centered design. With an Oxford MBA and an MSc in Education (Learning & Technology), I blend strategic leadership with cutting-edge technology to transform how we deliver and scale competency-based learning.I spearhead WGU’s AI initiatives, leading the integration of generative AI to automate the creation of program outcomes and competency statements, significantly reducing development time and saving hundreds of hours per program. My work also includes pioneering the application of Credential Transparency Description Language (CTDL) with GenAI, streamlining program development and ensuring cross-team alignment.A key focus of my role is embedding equity into educational technologies. I collaborate closely with DEI leaders to integrate data-informed equity insights into our design process, ensuring that our programs are inclusive and accessible to all students. I’ve authored SOPs that incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and led workshops to enhance accessibility, making our courses meet or exceed WCAG standards.In addition to my technical and strategic contributions, I facilitate monthly design forums and regularly present thought leadership across the organization. My efforts in knowledge sharing and collaboration foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, aligning our educational practices with the needs of a diverse and evolving student population.My commitment to enhancing postsecondary education extends beyond my work at WGU. I actively contribute to industry-wide discussions, including early technical discussions with the Open Skills Network (OSN), where I helped develop Rich Skill Descriptors (RSDs) that standardize and enhance the communication of skills in the digital economy.As an advocate for the thoughtful application of technology in education, I am dedicated to creating scalable, equitable, and high-impact learning experiences that empower students from all backgrounds to succeed.
