A PhD Level Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer with 35 years' experience. Experience in the following industries: aerospace, software, elevator, hand tool, contract research, and electrical controls. 9 years working outside of the US in non-English speaking countries (Switzerland, France). Over my career, I've worked in 5 primary roles: discipline chief, manager, facilitator for Value Engineering (VE)/ Value Analysis (VA)/ Value Management (VM)/ Design for Assembly (DFA)/ Design for x (DFx), cost modeler/cost engineer, cost analyst, and contract/in-company researcher. I enjoy working on challenging tasks that require a blend of my different skills. I like interacting with diverse people and international travel. I can work equally well on-site or remotely. I am particularly fond of manufacturing cost modeling challenges and building computer- or web-driven tools.
