About David Pomerleau

I am a licensed California Civil and Structural Engineer with over 25 years of structural engineering experience in building investigation, assessment, material testing, repair, retrofit and renovation of existing facilities, non-structural equipment and components and construction administration and management. I have led multi-discipline teams for many projects including those for universities, schools, correctional, military and law enforcement facilities, courthouses, industrial buildings, residential, government, offices, parking garages, historic structures, theme parks, essential operation facilities including fire stations, police stations, hospitals, and other critical facilities such as civic centers and data centers. I am an active member of the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC). I have served on the Existing Buildings Committee, and chaired that committee for five years, contributing to the development of the International Existing Building Code, and ordinances for the City of Los Angeles. During that time, I also chaired the state level Existing Building’s Committee for SEAOC. I also served as the Chair of the SEAOC Ad-Hoc Committee on Earthquake Performance Rating Systems. Through client and project management my goal and my experience is in building and maintaining relationships both with clients and with our team members. I strive to be a valuable resource, service, and counselor to those around me. I am a husband to my beautiful wife of 23 years and a proud father to my two children who are quickly moving through high school. I have enjoyed many years of supporting my two children in their interests and activities. I have served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader. I am currently serving as a Life-to-Eagle advisor in our Boy Scout troop. I have also enjoyed serving as a bible study leader for several years at our church encouraging and supporting children’s faith.
