While a full-time Partner with Barnes & Thornburg LLP, was a member of its Corporate Department, Finance, Insolvency & Restructuring Department and Litigation Department. Served multiple terms as Chair of B&T’s Finance, Insolvency and Restructuring Department, and at various times was a member of the Management Committee, the Non-Legal Affiliates Committee and the Legal Personnel Committee. Opened the firm’s Delaware office in 2009 and was its Managing Partner until August 2019, when moved to Houston, Texas, in support of spouse’s career. Practiced primarily in the areas of creditors' rights, business reorganization and bankruptcy law (50%), corporate and financing transactions (40%), and commercial litigation (10%). Regularly involved in the preparation and delivery of a variety of opinion letters addressing issues associated with enforceability, non-consolidation, true sale, organization, governance, non-dissolution and authority to file bankruptcy. Licensed in the states of Delaware, Indiana, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas, and admitted before the U.S. District / Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Delaware, Southern District of New York, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and Southern, Northern and Western Districts of Texas. During the years 2001-2009, worked full-time as a senior investment banker and financial advisor on merger and acquisition, recapitalization, reorganization, valuation and other assignments. Previously was a Partner based in the Indianapolis office of Barnes & Thornburg. Listed in various editions of The Best Lawyers in America (Woodward White), Super Lawyers (Thomson Reuters), and Who's Who in America (Marquis). Leadership roles with the American Bankruptcy Institute (former Co-Chair of Financial Advisors and Investment Banking Committee, former Advisory Board member for Mid-Atlantic States Conference, and former Advisory Board member for Central States Conference). Former Master of the Bench member of the Delaware Bankruptcy Inn of Court. Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors). Author of articles for and speaker at meetings of a variety of professional organizations.
