Summary: After 11 years at Apple, I am now retired, relocating to the greater Chicago area and will see what life brings. I now have over 22 years experience in the manufacturing industry doing production, process improvement, quality control, logistics, and project management. My skills include; critical inventory (prototypes) management and accountability, manual milling, 2-axis CNC programming/production, wiring and assembly, process improvement, and use of all standard inspection tools. I take great pride in delivering a quality product to my customer, internal and external, while taking any opportunity to learn new skills. Skills and Accomplishments: Technician / Prototyping Skills Experienced machinist (manual and 2-axis CNC) with extensive assembly and test experience Experienced with working on electronics at board level, primarily repairing or replacing components Familiar with SolidWorks and eDrawings '04-'06 Process Improvement Accomplishments I suggested and implemented design changes to improve reliability while lowering cost and allow for easier maintenance of equipment (Zircon) Redesigned several parts and assemblies to improve function and/or lower cost of final products (Onda) I designed and created a fixture that resulted in a 75% decrease of assembly time while also decreasing failure and scrap rates by nearly 50%(FM Ind.) Developed production streamlining and tracking tools in VBA for Excel Designed and implemented an improved handling process to reduce process handling errors.
