About David Puente

Effective law enforcement leader with over two decades of police experience and a strong background in policy development. I spent 10 years as a policy detective writing crucial policies such as in-car and body camera, use of force, crowd control, pursuits, and more. Additionally, I served on the Force Review Board and handled responses to inquiries from oversight entities. As an officer in Texas, I completed various special assignments, including background investigations, Spanish-language course development and instruction, and I assisted investigators as a translator on a variety of cases. My journey began as a US Border Patrol Agent in Lordsburg, New Mexico. Inspired by the dedication of the US Border Patrol Honor Guard, I am passionate about honoring fallen law enforcement officers, participating Honor Guard duties for every agency I’ve worked for. Prior to my current role, I served as the City of Redmond’s Human Resources Manager, focusing on Labor Relations and Policy Administration. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Oklahoma.
