Executive Chairman, Sky News Group with overall responsibility for Sky’s news services across EMEA. Based in London, Sky encompasses the international connectivity, platforms, content and experiences businesses of Comcast-NBCUniversal, the US media, technology and connectivity conglomerate. Sky News Group includes Sky News (in English), Sky TG24 (in Italian), their digital extensions, partnerships, and joint ventures. The Group has more than 800 staff globally. Previously, Rhodes was for eight years President of CBS News, then an advisor to the Los Angeles Times, Spotify, and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He was President, UK Broadcasting for News Corp, his second stint with the company where he started his career in 1996 at Fox News. At CBS, Rhodes and his team launched “CBS This Morning,” expanded the Washington public-affairs program “Face the Nation,” made significant talent transitions including on “CBS Sunday Morning” - and in 2014 launched the first-of-its-kind news streaming service, then called CBSN. CBS News forged a global news-gathering partnership with BBC News in 2017, replacing ABC News as the BBC's US partner. At Bloomberg LP from 2008 to 2011 he served as Head of US Television where he led a complete re-branding and restructuring of the company’s consumer-facing video production. At Fox until 2008 he was Vice President of News, leading general news coverage after managing foreign coverage and later all political assignments beginning in Rhodes has served on the Board of Trustees of Rice University, the Advisory Board of the James A Baker Institute for Public Policy, the External Board of the Rice-Doerr Institute for New Leaders, the Advisory Board of the Scripps-Howard School of Journalism, and chaired the Advisory Board of the Edward R Murrow Center for a Digital World within Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He is also a past member of the board of the Riverdale Country School in New York City. A 2013-2018 Young Global Leader (YGL) of the World Economic Forum (Davos), he participates in the Forum’s International Media Council. David lives in London with his wife Emma, also in the news media, including with Goals House, Needham Partners and earlier with MTV Networks, CBS, the New York Post, and Cablevision. They have two teenage boys.
