40 years experience in Materials and Process Engineering, primarily in the oil and gas industry, the last 30 specialising in Corrosion Engineering and Materials Consultancy. Fifteen years employed with UK and Middle East Oil Companies as a Senior Corrosion Engineer and Consultant involving the supervision of all aspects of materials design, procurement, fabrication and operation of onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities. Extensive experience in both conceptual studies and detail design of oil and gas facilities including jackets, topsides, pipelines and onshore plant. Development and implementation of monitoring, inspection and maintenance procedures for oil and gas plant including supervision of field inspection teams. Definition and management of subsea inspection programs in the Qatar North Field (60m water depth) for 15 subsea structures and 8 large dia pipelines with subsea wyes. Technical Team Lead for Emergency Pipeline Repair System for large dia multiphase pipelines based on the concepts of isolation by piggable plugs and repair by insert spools using mechanical connectors and towed pipeline sections Several published works on corrosion problems and their prevention.
