About David Rowley

I love helping people, and I love technology. I love solving problems, and I love learning new things. That's why I love my job as storage engineer! I get to do all of the above every day. My background is 25+ years in IT starting back in the dotcom craze of the late 90s as a Unix / Linux engineer and then becoming a Storage engineer and architect, pre-sales engineer, solutions consultant, etc. I have experience with fleets of Linux servers using Ansible, Terraform, Git, Prometheus, and Grafana. Storage technologies include Lustre, NVMesh, and Swiftstack. I code in Python, Perl, and bash. I've got my AWS Solutions Architect Associate cert, and have experience in all the major clouds including AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle. My legacy storage experience includes Hitachi, NetApp, EMC, Pure, Brocade, and Cisco MDS, along with Solaris, Linux, AIX, and Veritas. On the personal side, I love salsa dancing and surfing. I love traveling and meeting new people and learning about their lives and culture. I speak Spanish & French, and I love learning languages! I live in Southern California.
