I have worked two fast pace, technical jobs. My first job was Sam's Bagels in Catonsville, MD. By the end of my tenure, my job description included opening shop at 5:30am preparing the entire establishment for a normally busy day, work the cash register dealing with 100+ customers on a daily basis, making and preparing food for customers and perform all clean up procedures for entire shop and close up. It demanded a lot of effort and concentration and taught me valuable people skills along with how to handle having an entire operation under my supervision and responsibility. I also had to work in a team with my coworkers as we would sometimes receive 20+ orders at once with each order having more than one item included. It required patience when dealing with newer workers and endurance by requiring concentration for longs periods of time to ensure no orders were completed incorrectly. My second, current job is working Events Services at Loyola University Maryland. This job entails flipping entire halls for set ups of different events meaning that sometimes we move over 200 chairs and 50 tables. It requires me to move fast and in unison with my coworkers. We run a lot at the university and can be counted on to do any job. We setup and take down for the concerts, sporting events, guest speaker lectures, and special events around campus. I have to uphold a certain image when i wear my uniform and promote a good name for Events Services. The hours are all over the place sometimes requiring me to work 13 hour shifts and stay up past 2:00am. The job is great and I wouldn't want to work anywhere else for the time being.
