About David Ruthven

Experienced Anglican Priest, Rector, and Former Archdeacon with a demonstrated history of strengthening parish life and supporting educational leadership across multiple settings. I have served as an Archdeacon in both the Dioceses of Canberra & Goulburn and Brisbane, and I bring over two decades of parish ministry, educational guidance, and community engagement to my current role as Rector of the Anglican Parish of North Pine—a vibrant and growing community in North Brisbane. My background includes: • Leadership in four flourishing parishes, each dedicated to discipleship, Biblical teaching, and vibrant worship. • Service as Deputy of the Canberra & Goulburn Schools Commission, where I was privileged to help guide educational policy and direction for diocesan schools. • Chairing two schools, fostering supportive and effective environments for students and faculty alike. • A Reserve Royal Australian Navy Chaplaincy, as well as an honorary role as a Police Chaplain, both of which reflect my commitment to pastoral care in diverse contexts. With a master’s in Business Management and degrees in both theology and Parks & Recreation Management, I am committed to applying a unique blend of pastoral, administrative, and strategic skills to support the holistic growth of the communities I serve. My focus remains on putting Christ at the center of all we do, creating an environment where people feel connected, valued, and spiritually nourished.
