About David Sande

A recent graduate from EARTH university, Costa Rica with a B.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences; Agronomy, under Mastercard Foundation scholarship. Through experiential learning, I have grown adversely in the field of agriculture and leadership. I am passionate about climate smart agricultural practices involving the use of technology that make use of the scarce resources to optimize productivity. I advocate for desert agriculture and a strong believer in change for the desert narrative in terms of agricultural production mainly for Sub-Saharan Africa. I have a special focus on site specific fertigation systems and precision agriculture that allow efficient use of water in crop production in arid areas. Working in different leadership positions with organizations like Net Impact has built my confidence on the roles of the youth in agricultural development who have the ability to bring together fluency of thinking that accelerates bold solutions that transform lives. My everyday effort to success is built on deep conviction that the environmental and social challenges confronting the planet can be resolved through education that promotes science, technology and entrepreneurship while focusing on essential human values, leadership and a commitment to social and environmental service.
