About David Saxelby

David is one of the most senior and experienced leaders in the Construction, Transport and Infrastructure sectors in Australia. In a career spanning 35 years, he has held Managing Director and CEO roles in some of the largest Construction and Infrastructure companies in the southern hemisphere. An active non-executive director, he now focuses his energy on guiding and advising key stakeholders in both private and public sectors. In his executive career, he most recently served as the CEO of Construction and Infrastructure Australia for Lendlease, accountable for a $7B P&L. He was also a member of Lendlease's Global Leadership Team. Prior to this, David was employed by the Leighton Group (now Cimic) for over 18 years, most recently as the Managing Director of Theiss Pty Ltd, a multi-discipline Construction, Mining and Services business, where he oversaw growth in turnover from $3B to $6B. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney and has been listed in the Top 100 Most Influential Engineers in Australia for the past four years. David is married to Catherine, one of Australia's leading nutritionist and author of eleven books. They have two adult children. He owns a cattle property on the Central West plains of NSW and is passionate about pasture improvement and land care.
