I have 35 years of networking experience. The last 10 has expanded past Cisco for everything. Our environment is cross manaufacturer now (Juniper switches, F5 Load balancers, Aerohive WI-FI, Infoblox DNS/DHCP, Palo Alto Firewalls, AudioCodes SBCs (voice gateway), Polycom phones, ShoreTel system, Skype for Business, Solarwinds, and so on). So many products it is hard to be a master of everything. You become a generalist is the support of so many different products. I have knowledge and realtime experience in the handling of computer room management, firewalls, voice over IP, load balancers, IDS, fiber channel - Brocade, storage area networks - HP and Netapp, wireless, Cisco switches 5500, 3560, 3750, 6500 and routers 3662, 2814, 1800 series, and DNS/DHCP. I can handle basic Red Hat and Windows configurations. I have 6 full time professionals, 1 temp and 3 interns who I manage. I have a high level of visual perception and I'm actively involved in the planning of a new building on campus and in the backfill planning of the freed up space the new building will provide. I have a long term involvement in the Auraria Campus shared IT environment and can provide insight into most issues the ACTC committee encounters. To keep my mind fresh and open I have taken up H&R Block for the last 15 years as a seasonal tax professional. I must take 18 to 30 hours of training a year to get a better understanding of complicated tax issues and how to get the best refund for each client.
