I help credit unions strengthen enterprise risk management (ERM), clarify strategy, and improve governance—so boards, executives, and risk teams can make better decisions with fewer surprises.Most of my work is in ERM: building or modernizing programs, improving how risks are identified and discussed, and creating reporting that is practical for management and useful for oversight. I also facilitate strategic planning engagements—sometimes alongside ERM (to connect strategy to risk appetite and execution), and sometimes as a standalone effort focused on priorities, milestones, and measurable objectives.I partner with boards and executive teams, and I work closely with risk leaders and risk management teams to design the tools, cadence, and governance that make risk and strategy processes sustainable.Common engagements include:• Designing or refreshing ERM programs (frameworks, risk policies, committee structures, charters, roles, and operating cadence)• Facilitating enterprise risk assessments and risk appetite discussions that translate into clear thresholds and decision guidance• Building Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and board/executive reporting that connects risk signals to strategic objectives and performance• Facilitating multi-year strategic planning: direction-setting, initiative prioritization, milestones, and measures that support execution• Strengthening governance effectiveness through board and committee practices, including board/committee/supervisory committee self-evaluations• Delivering training for boards, executives, and risk teams on ERM, risk appetite, governance oversight, and strategic risk thinking• Assessing current-state maturity across risk, strategy, and governance and providing a prioritized roadmap for improvementMy approach is structured and facilitative. I bring a clear process and board-ready deliverables, while staying grounded in what management teams can implement and maintain.
