About David Sengthay

I am a community and electoral organizer born and raised in Stockton, California, committed to building power in underrepresented communities and increasing civic engagement at the local level. I have experience mobilizing constituents through protests, voter outreach, and digital advocacy to make local government more transparent, inclusive, and accountable. My work spans organizing demonstrations, leading electoral campaigns, and driving community outreach efforts—particularly as a youth organizer focused on racial justice, educational equity, reproductive wellness, women’s rights, and uplifting queer BIPOC communities. These causes are deeply personal to me and central to the future I’m fighting for. Currently pursuing a B.A. in Urban Studies and a Master’s in Public Policy at Stanford University, I plan to return home to Stockton to serve in local government—first as a Program Manager in the Office of Economic Development, and eventually as an elected official. My goal is to champion policy solutions that expand opportunity, counter disinformation, and build trust between communities and the institutions meant to serve them.
