I have worked for most of my career doing research and development of handheld and embedded computer products with teams of engineers from all disciplines. We have taken products from paper to prototype to production over and over again and I still get a great feeling of accomplishment when I've overcome the latest challenge and done my part to bring another product to market, and I take pride in the quality and reliability of products that have to operate in difficult environments over an extremely long lifetime. Because I enjoy working with people and am not afraid of taking risks, I also started a successful software contracting business, which was an interesting and rewarding experience. I sold my share of the business to the co-founder when I moved from Spokane to Port Orchard to be closer to family.
