David Shelton founded Plasmonics Inc in 2010 and served as CEO and President until 2016. Since May 2016 he has been the chief scientist at St Johns Optical Systems. Dr. Shelton has spent the past 12 years developing Infrared detectors and metamaterials. His dissertation for the PhD in Materials Science was on tunable Infrared Metamaterials. He has led reaearch efforts in infrared detectors based on PbSe, HgCdTe, VO2, and nanoanntennas. These efforts have included design, fabrication, and testing.
