About David Shupe

I have been in the Motion Control industry for over 30 years. My career began, while obtaining my Associate Degree, in Drafting and Design, when I became a machinist at an extrusion company. During my time there I worked full time while taking a large college course load. I learned how to operate and program CNC Mills, Lathes, Wire EDM's, and various other basic machine shop equipment, while utilizing my CAD experience gained from my degree program. A couple of years after college graduation I moved from the extrusion business to become an Intermediate Tooling Designer at a major motion control company. During my 16 years with that company, I became the AutoCAD manager and a Senior Tool Designer. I moved from the first motion control industry to a second Major Motion Control Industry, MOOG Inc, and I am currently celebrating over 15 years of employment at MOOG Space and Defense in Blacksburg Va. I entered employment at MOOG as a Senior Tooling Designer and later became the Tool Design Supervisor/Manager. During the Early portion of my career, I enjoyed a period of 9 years where I also owned and operated a Restaurant. I gained several skills, owning and operating a small business, such as Human Resources, Managment, Purchasing, Supervision, Advertising, Graphics Arts, etc. I am a driven individual who loves mechanically oriented fields, both in work and in hobbies. I enjoy WWI and WWII history, auto racing, photography, Detective and mystery shows, family and friends, music, singing, and many other wonderful activities.
