About David Sidwell

Contact me when you are tired of thinking small. My mastery of applying creativity and education to making nearly any public program more successful has been proven again and again. As Program Director for the American West Heritage Center, I created ground-breaking programs, events and a host of revenue streams that quadrupled visitation and changed public perception, transforming it into one of northern Utah's top cultural attractions while also dramatically increasing revenue from visitors. As a curriculum leader for Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre, I helped actualize one of the most successful arts-in-education programs in the world, affecting dozens of classrooms and thousands of kids each year. As Theatre Education Program Director at Utah State University, I created curriculum, chaired conferences, raised funds, visited classrooms, worked with the Smithsonian, and earned teaching awards, establishing a nationally recognized program for theatre and education. As an independent Event Manager and Designer, I currently use my skills and artistic talents to create events that engage people in both fun and learning. As an online instructor and curriculum designer, I create effective new ways of teaching and learning in addition to using tried and true methods. More about me: In a world full of specialists, I'm a Renaissance Man. My favorite "jobs"​ are usually CAUSES that help people. I don't care who gets the credit; I just want to succeed. I don't care who gets the blame; I just want to improve. I do not have an "open door policy,"​ because I proactively visit my staff - where they are. People often ask me:"How can you always be so cheerful all the time?"​ Love applies to leadership. Am I old-fashioned in thinking so? I don't think so. After all, it's all about people.
