About David Silver

I’m an experienced and dynamic individual with a unique and wide range of practical experience in the music business having worked with clients including Ozzy Osbourne, Ross Halfin, Judas Priest, Metallica, Def Leppard, EMI Music Publishing, Sony ATV and CAA to name a few. I started out in the music industry on the artist side as the guitar player/singer in Heavy Metal band Savage Messiah from 2007 to 2020. With six albums released internationally via Earache Records and later Century Media/Sony Music and published via AMF/Kobalt in addition to hundreds of concerts performed in 38 countries across 3 continents (the band was at one point booked by super agent Steve Strange) against the odds and prevailing trends we built a dedicated and respectable global following. Recognition also came via nominations by Metal Hammer magazine as ‘best new band’ in 2015, as recipients of the BPI Music Export Growth scheme resulting in a feature on Channel 4 news in the UK, and a sync in the Ubisoft smash hit video game Watch dogs:Legion. With streaming figures into the multi-millions, multiple radio campaigns, PR campaigns, album cycles, touring both as a headliner and as support act to many much larger acts, festival appearances including Download, Hellfest (main stage), Graspop, Loud Park and more it would serve as a wonderful “university of life” for learning the do’s and don’ts of the music business. Given that the pursuit of global heavy metal super stardom can at times be a fickle creature, I was always looking for concurrent professional opportunities, which would lead me to EMI Music Publishing in 2011 as a royalty accountant. Moving with the rest of the company to Sony ATV after the merger I then took a role at PRS For Music as an auditor where I acquired in depth knowledge of mechanical copyright protocol. I then moved into a role as a tour accountant at CAA thus completing the trifecta of Publisher, Record Label and Talent Agency experience. In 2016 I met renowned Rock Photographer Ross Halfin, and a request to build and consolidate a digital archive has led into a near decade long association and all manner of projects from Photobooks, Album Reissue projects with bands including Metallica, Def Leppard and Guns N Roses, Photoshoots, global travel, social media projects, websites, NFT’s and more. It was also through this affiliation and a book project called ‘Randy Rhoads by Ross Halfin’ that I would meet Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne which led to the building of their digital archive at their home and would be the catalyst for my relocation to Los Angeles.
