David S. Silverman is a Junior Seminar instructor for KIPP Legacy High School in Kansas City, Missouri, and an adjunct instructor for K-State's Aerospace and Technology Campus in Salina, Kansas. He completed his B.A. in English at Florida State University, an M.A. in English Studies at Illinois State University, and then a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Missouri. His first book, “You Can’t Air That”: Four Cases of Censorship and Controversy in American Television Programming, was an Editor’s Pick in Choice magazine. His second book,"Animated Mischief," which he co-edited with Brian Duchaney, was released in the fall of 2023 from McFarland Publishing. He currently resides in the Kansas City area with his wife, Olga.
