Background

About David Sims

I am a Self-starting and highly motivated IT professional that has over 20 years of experience in the Infrastructure, System Administration, and Leadership spaces. Having held roles within Helpdesks, System Engineers, System Administrators, as well as Management, I have a deep understanding of what it feels like to be the "boots on the ground." I thrive in team environments and have always considered myself to be way more collaborative than I have been competitive, and my leadership style reflects that. I can best be summarized as "autonomous and data-driven". I mentor and empower my teams to make decisions that they know will benefit "the whole" rather than "the one", and to think through issues to bring solutions to the table, not just problems. I pride myself in making data-driven and emotionally intelligent decisions, as well as maintaining a calm approach to problem resolution, having worked through multiple code black/system down scenarios throughout my IT career. Currently, I am specializing in Cloud & DevOps technologies through the implementation of projects based on real scenarios with focus on technologies and services from AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud with the objective of supporting companies in their migration and modernization journeys from on-premise to Cloud.
