About David Skarda

Senior developer, project manager, racer, and filmmaker. I am seeking challenges that will push me both professionally and personally. I enjoy solving problems and creating things that have value, benefit, and meaning. With 7 years of experience in IT, I began as a programmer and progressed to a project manager overseeing 9 projects simultaneously. I led development on platforms such as Frenkee, Cleany, Rondainvest, ČD Travel, Tisknu levně, Sport In Art, Sportbreak, Betdoin, ÚJV (Institute of Nuclear Sciences), Blunit, and many others. I have a passion for technology and love implementing new solutions that are innovative enough to advance development but not too new to introduce excessive risk. Over the years, I have mastered PHP and frameworks like Nette/Laravel, MySQL, PostgresQL, JavaScript, and frameworks such as JQuery/React/React Native, Ruby on Rails. Any new technology is a challenge I eagerly take on to master. As a project manager, I led a 10-member development team from juniors to seniors. We primarily use a combination of Asana and Slack for all communication, from task assignment to task completion. We implement CI, automated tests from Selenium to Cypress, and automatic deploys to VPS for developer-tested changes. I've mastered the entire process from client request to delivering results, ensuring the client receives what they need in the fastest time and highest quality without compromise. Beyond IT, I am involved in education, automobiles, and video/film creation. I am the creator of the AutoBrief project, aiming to explain how cars work simply and effectively. I plan educational projects in IT and create automotive reviews. In December 2023, I spent 20 days in Kenya providing full media coverage for the Škoda 130 LR and Ford Escort at the Safari Rally 2023, the toughest classic rally in the world. In 20 days, I produced over 40 ten-minute videos, handling everything from shooting passages, interviews, editing, and post-production—a one-man army. It was the biggest challenge I have faced so far, with ten-kilometer marches on special stages, waking up at 5 AM, and finishing work at midnight. It was tough, but it's an example of the challenges I embrace. I am looking for challenges like these—something that is not easy, something that will propel me both professionally and personally. Something where I can say,"If it was easy, anyone could do it."
