About David Sol

After a fortunate journey that took me around the world as an athlete, intrepid adventurer, and a wonderfully unfocussed student, I landed late in the ‘real world’ as a registered professional planner - because planning is anything and everything! I’m passionate about design, but also providing evidence to support holistic and inclusive planning decisions. Recently, I’ve been responding to the urgent need to address flooding in our communities. I have conducted risk and mitigation assessments across Canada and contributed to the development of national methods, software, datasets, and guidelines. I believe we can creatively integrate and adapt to natural hazards and other social, economic, or environmental challenges for all our benefit. Business as usual is boring.
