About David Soulsby

I've been in the medical billing industry for over 25 years and covered all aspects of the business, from submitting claims and claims follow-up to creating departments for improving reimbursement and collections. Some of the most rewarding aspects has been the training and mentorship of staff. I've been a certified trainer for EHR software. Learning the software used in provider offices present a challenge for some, and my role as trainer, champion and mentor for the staff very rewarding. I've lead billing and coding classes to help others achieve certification as Certified Professional Coders. These additional roles have allowed me to be more compassionate when staff are struggling or just can't get in the groove of the work they are assigned. My outlook on managing and mentoring is they are both intertwined. Managing is a requirement of successful business practices but mentorship is what transforms the staff member into a better employee.
