About David Straight

Through my work with companies large and small, I have experience working with developers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to craft a consistent, accessible, and scalable user experience strategy whether working on a product, design system, web, or other projects. I am a UX-certified designer with a background in interaction design and visual communication. I am adaptable and can add value at any stage of the design process, but I feel it's important to be able to see the whole picture and think strategically (not just work tactically). Frankly, I get amped talking or observing users then framing and ideating on a problem-solving strategy with a team and designing solutions that may help a user complete their task faster. However, I understand the importance of balancing user needs with business objectives. I also like crafting a design language and exploring delightful motion design which keeps customers coming back and reflects well on the brand. However, I am constantly seeking ways to expand my skill set. Because I have worked as a designer in a variety of different industries and business sizes with unique constraints, I have practice collaborating with diverse mindsets & cultivating a solid design practice regardless of the scenario. Expect me to ask 'why?' a lot in order to disrupt assumptions. Ultimately, I see myself focusing on design for good because I believe design should be used to improve people's lives.
