About David Sweeting

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare and retail, I am a relationship manager at Specsavers, the largest optical retailer in Australia and New Zealand. I hold a FBDO.CL,( Bsc equivalent ) credential, which qualifies me as a contact lens optician and a specialist in eye care and vision correction. I have first hand experience of partnership having owned and operated 7 franchises of Specsavers in 2 multi site locations in both the UK and in NZ. In my current role, I oversee the partner, team, and company liaison needs of 25 to 58 optical franchises and 20 audiology franchises across both islands of New Zealand. I lead a team of 15 to 45 employees per store and support them in achieving double-digit sales and client growth per year. I have worked with a small multidisciplinary team to implement strategic initiatives that increase agility and competitiveness in the market. My mission is to provide a people-first approach to leadership, in which I invest heavily in my team and deliver the highest level of service to our customers and long-term growth for our company.
