Background

About David Tan

I specialize in gynaecological cancers, precision oncology, and the development of novel cancer therapies. Since joining NCIS in 2013, I have been involved in clinical trials and research focused on therapeutic advancements and predictive biomarkers in gynaecological cancers. I lead the Gynaecological Cancer Precision Oncology Programme (GCPO) at NCIS, which integrates clinical trials with biomarker research to better understand treatment response and resistance. I also co-lead early-phase precision oncology studies, including the Integrated Molecular Analysis of Cancer (IMAC) program and the Singapore Immunogram for Immuno-oncology (SIGNAL), in collaboration with A*STAR. Beyond research, I contribute to clinical trial networks and advisory groups that aim to improve treatment options. I am the founding President of the Gynecologic Cancer Group Singapore (GCGS), a national clinical trials network, and inaugural chair of the Asia-Pacific Gynaecologic Oncology Trials (APGOT) Group, which fosters collaboration among regional cancer centers. With a background in medical oncology and drug development, I trained at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and the Institute of Cancer Research, London. I am passionate about mentoring junior investigators, engaging in collaborative research, and advancing treatment strategies to improve outcomes for patients with gynaecological cancers.
